First Year Favorites: A Dozen Sweet Things and a Giveaway

I started this blog one year ago today as a way to share good recipes as well as some occasional reviews and encouragement with family and friends, and it has been a blessing. I have loved all of the cooking and baking, of course, but I have also loved connecting with people near and far. Thank you for reading and for baking and cooking with me. Every comment has been an encouragement. Thank you, thank you!

Peanut Butter Pie

pb pieceI have mentioned before that chocolate is not really my thing, BUT if you add peanut butter to chocolate, I am all in favor of it. Peanut butter cups have been one of my favorites for a long time. And Blue Bunny has an ice cream flavor called Peanut Butter Panic. Mmmmm. Another favorite.

This peanut butter pie?

Yep, another favorite. And isn’t it pretty?

Grasshopper Mint Bark

mint barkThis mint candy treat would be perfect for your upcoming St. Urho’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Most of us know about St. Patrick’s Day and that green is the color of the day, thus many green mint desserts and drinks, but “Who is St. Urho?” you ask.

Coconut Cream Pie

slice 2Do you realize how many holidays are coming up in just the next few weeks? It is time to get busy baking!

Next week is my one year blogiversary (not an official holiday YET) and then of course there is the ever-popular Pi Day on the 14th, St. Urho’s Day on the 16th, St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th, and then Easter on the 27th. The only way to manage all of this is to multi-task and make desserts that will work for more than one occasion. This Coconut Cream Pie will have you covered for Pi Day and/or Easter.

You’re welcome!
